Huawei presented the Huawei Nova 2i equipped with 18:9 FullView display and four cameras

In September this year, Huawei introduced the new Maimang 6 smartphone for the Chinese market. Now we are talking about the same apparatus, but with a different name, colors and geography of distribution.

Without press events and unnecessary noise, Huawei introduced its new Nova 2i smartphone. The device is somewhat reminiscent of the original Nova 2 devices, but it looks more interesting. It comes with an almost frameless FullView display and four cameras on board: two main and two rear.

Nova 2i looks exactly like the unannounced yet Huawei Mate 10 Lite. At the same time, the characteristics of the novelty also fully corresponding to the specifications of the initial version of Mate 10, so we are likely to have a local version of Huawei Mate 10 Lite.

The Nova2i smartphone received an all-metal case and a trend screen with an aspect ratio of 18: 9. The frames are rather narrow, so even a 5.9-inch diagonal does not make of it an immense phoblet like Honor 8 Pro. The dimensions of the novelty are 156.2 × 75.2 × 7.5 mm (in Honor 8 Pro it is 157x77.5x7 mm with a 5.7-inch screen).

As representatives of the Huawei corporation informed the media, the new Nova 2i is just an international version of the Huawei Maimang 6 smartphone, announced less than two weeks ago.

Judging by its technical specs, the new Nova 2i is a solid mid-level smartphone, with an emphasis on cameras, which it has four. Just like the recently introduced smartphone Huawei Maimang 6 in China, the Nova 2i is also equipped with four cameras. On the front is a duo of sensors with 13 and 2 MP, supplemented by an LED flash, and in the back, there is a 16-MP main and also a 2-MP additional sensor. In both cases, the secondary sensor serves to measure the depth of field and a better blur of the background.

The resolution of the display is 2160x1080 pixels, and the screen is covered with glass with the effect of 2.5D. Other features include the 8-core Kirin 659 processor, supplemented by the MaliT830-MP2 accelerator. The smartphone has 4GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal memory, with the possibility of expansion with the use of a micro SD card.

The capacity of the rechargeable battery in the Huawei Nova 2i is 3,340 mAh, whereas the smartphone weighs 164 grams. Also, notable is the fingerprint scanner, located under the vertically positioned two cameras on the rear panel of the smartphone, and a LED flash is built right into the antenna strip. The new Huawei smartphone is working on the basis of Android 7.0.1 Nougat with the EMUI 5.1 shell.

Huawei Nova 2i offers various gestures that should make the smartphone more interactive. For example, by drawing the letter "S" on the screen, you can make a screenshot. The colors of this phone are as follows: blue, black and white.

At the moment, sales of the Huawei Nova 2i has started in some countries of Asia. The smartphone is now listed at major retailer Vmall's official website, but Huawei has not confirmed the price or availability details yet.

By the way, the top flagships Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro will be presented very soon, and the latter will have a frameless screen with an aspect ratio of 18: 9, like the LG V30.
